Located on the south shore of Clear Lake in north central Iowa, the St. Paul’s cabin is a great place for retreats, recreation, and family gatherings. Many local residents still call the cabin’s location on the wooded shoreline of the lake “the Methodist Camp,” since it was once part of a large Iowa Methodist camp retreat. The area is now the Bell Harbor Homeowners Association, but it once consisted only of cabins owned by various Methodist churches in Iowa.

We are pleased to make this family-friendly cabin available for rent by members and non-members. The typical summer season runs May-October; however, other times may be considered with advance notice.

  • Five bedrooms: one bedroom with double bed and four dormitory rooms with four sets of bunk beds each

  • Heating and central air conditioning
  • No pets allowed
  • Not wheelchair accessible

Furnishings do not include bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows, and cases) or towels. Please bring your own linens.

Clear Lake Recreation

The cabin includes a barbeque grill and access to a sand play area and small beach with protected swimming area. Clear Lake provides a variety of recreational activities, including:

  • Swimming
  • Boating
  • Excellent fishing
  • Biking
  • Two Iowa state parks
  • Downtown shopping and dining
  • Two public beaches
  • Golf courses
  • Seasonal community festivals

Rates & Reservations

Reservations are available May 1–October 31. (Other times may be considered with advance notice.) Rental reservation priority is given to St. Paul’s members with reservations for the coming year opening:

September 1: for St. Paul’s groups and programs
November 1: for St. Paul’s members
April 1: for other groups and the public

Rental Rates:

Members: $1,100 per week
Non-members: $1,300 per week
$250 per day for partial weeks for both members and non-members

Payment & Confirmation

To initiate a reservation:

  • Download and complete an application below and submit a $300 deposit to the church.
  • The balance of the rental fee is due no later than 60 days prior to occupancy.

Refunds:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • One-half of the rental balance is refundable if cancellation is received two weeks prior to your reserved dates.
  • Full refunds will be made if the cabin is re-rented for the canceled period.

Pay for Your Cabin Rental

After you submit your application, please pay the deposit of $300. You may mail a check or pay using the button below. Mark “Clear Lake Cabin” as the fund. The balance is due 60 days prior to occupancy.
