Who We Are
A Community of Belonging
Who We Are
A Place of Belonging
A Place For All
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids is a place of worship and welcome that values all people, embraces diversity and respects differences.
A Place For You
We believe in God’s boundless love for all people – ALL ages, races, abilities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, expressions, and life circumstances.

Our Values
Our church has deep roots in social justice and a history of opening our hearts and doors to others. We actively care for one another, our neighborhood, our community, and our world through ministries dedicated to loving others and the environment.

Our Mission
Missional priorities guide everything we do at St. Paul’s—from programs and outreach to relationships and ministry teams. Our Missional Priorities are reflected in the acronym G.R.O.W.S.
- Grow through vibrant ministries with children, youth, and families.
- Resist injustice by doing justice.
- Open ourselves to be a place of ever-increasing welcome and belonging.
- Work to develop deeper relationships, both inward and outward.
- Sow seeds of faith by tending to the sacred within each of us, so we can be formed in Christ’s image.
The United Methodist Church
We belong to a larger network of churches called The United Methodist Church (UMC), which connects us locally, regionally, and across the world.
Through the strength of this connection, individual churches can make a big difference, for example, taking a united stand against gun violence or delivering relief to communities affected by a disaster.
The United Methodist Church believes God’s love for the world is an active and engaged love, a love seeking justice and liberty. Learn more about the UMC’s Social Principles and what it means to be a United Methodist.
